About The 2irish Archive

2irish.com began life as a web site developed by Dermot Carmody & Morgan C Jones in 1999/2000. The site contained articles on how to be too Irish, interactive Flash movies (2irish.com MicroMovies) and a series of regular satirical news items (2irish News).

In 2000 2irish News became the basis for a radio programme broadcast on Dublin local radio station “Lite FM” every weekday morning for 12 weeks. One of the main purposes of this site is to make the archived recordings of those radio programmes available.

The progamme “2irish Shortwave Audio News”, took the form of a radio newscast anchored by the site’s hosts Séamus Brophy (Carmody’s deranged culchie sterotype alter-ego) and Éamon Trolleybus (Jones’ Dublin-based equivalent). Éamon Trolleybus had radio form, having been created during Morgan C Jones’ long stint as the comedy content provider in the morning’s for another Dublin station, 98FM, in the 90s.

Carmody & Jones hope you enjoy the archive recordings of “2irish Shortwave Audio News”. We’ll be releasing them on a daily basis here until we run out of them and we hope to create new Brophy & Tolleybus content as appropriate in the future.

In time some of the content of the original 2irish web site will also be archived on this site, but for now we invite you to visit the “2irish Shortwave Audio News” archive.
